Tal Wilkenfeld
Tal Wilkenfeld (born 2 December 1986) is an Australian singer, songwriter, bassist and guitarist who has gained attention performing alongside some rock and jazz music artists like Jeff Beck, Prince, Eric Clapton, Herbie Hancock, Mick Jagger and Chick Corea.
Born on 2nd December 1986 Wilkenfeld began playing the guitar at fourteen and two years later in 2002 dropped out of high school in Sydney and went to the United State where she studied the electric guitar. Within a year she had switched to electric bass guitar and graduated from Los Angeles Music Academy College of Music in 2004.
At age 18, (in 2004) she moved to New York City and began making a name for herself in New York’s jazz clubs. In 2006 while playing at one of the clubs in New York, Wilkenfeld met some members of The Allman Brothers Band. Months after performing as a guest with The Allman Brothers Band, Wilkenfeld recorded her debut album, Transformation when she was 20 years old.
In 2008, Wilkenfeld was voted “The Year’s Most Exciting New Player” by Bass Player magazine readers’ choice poll.
On 3 March 2016 Wilkenfeld released a single called “Corner Painter” featuring Blake Mills and Benmont Tench.
On 15 March 2019, Wilkenfeld released her vocal debut album Love Remains, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseeker charts in the first week of its release.
